Justice has more apartment living than almost any other town on our map. Only about a third of its homes are detached houses, and more than four in ten sit in buildings with five or more units (ACS 2020 to 2024). So a Justice pickup is as likely to be from an apartment lot as from a driveway. Junk My Car Inc handles both the same way: free tow, payment when the car is loaded.
Undrivable already counts as abandoned
The village code defines an abandoned vehicle broadly. Under Section 6-41 it includes any vehicle in disrepair that can’t be driven, as well as one left unmoved for seven days or more that looks deserted. Section 6-42 then makes it unlawful to abandon a vehicle on any highway, or on public or private property in public view, unless that property belongs to the owner. The police chief can order removal from private property after a waiting period of at least seven days. When the car isn’t yours at all, see how Illinois handles a car someone left on your property.
In plain terms: a dead car in a shared lot that isn’t yours is on borrowed time, even if the landlord hasn’t complained yet.
The sticker covers storage, too
Justice requires a village sticker on the lower passenger side of the windshield, and Section 6-24 makes it unlawful not only to drive on village streets without one, but to keep or store a vehicle anywhere in the village without one. The passenger-car sticker runs July 1 to June 30, and the late penalty doubles it. A car that will never move again still costs a sticker every year.
Snow and the Archer corridor
The village asks residents to keep cars off the streets once an inch of snow has fallen, until the plows have finished, and police may ticket or tow cars that aren’t moved.
Archer Avenue (Route 171) is the main road through Justice, with an interchange at 79th Street, and the La Grange Road and Tri-State ramps sit at the Willow Springs line. Resurrection Cemetery is on Archer, and village hall is at 7800 Archer Road, both handy landmarks when you describe where the car is. The Lithuanian National Cemetery is in Justice too, and Pace buses serve the village.
The arterials themselves are no place to leave a dead car. Section 6-2 bans parking on the roadway, on the right of way and within 10 feet of the curb along 79th Street from Roberts Road west to the village limits, along most of Archer Road, and on 83rd Street between Roberts Road and 81st Avenue. If the car quits on one of them, get it onto a driveway or into a lot, then call us.

South of Justice, Hickory Hills keeps dead cars in garages only; see Hickory Hills junk car pickup. East along 79th Street, we’re junk car buyers in Bridgeview too. Where Archer meets La Grange Road we also buy junk cars in Willow Springs, and to the northeast we run Bedford Park pickups. The areas page lists the rest.
